The Action Foundation
To increase access to disability inclusive ECD programmes and services for 1.3 million children with disabilities (CWDs) and their caregivers in Kenya so that they can thrive in an inclusive, integrated, and sustainable ecosystem designed to holistically support their development. This transformative approach will ensure comprehensive access to healthcare, education, and social protection services, with special attention to the unique challenges faced by girls with disabilities.
Strengths
- Working with governments system to prevent occurence of disabilities in children before and after birth.
- Working with government to promote access to rehabilitation services and assistive technology.
- Policy advocacy for inclusive policies, legislations and promoting political goodwill for the prioritisation of domestic resources for disability inclusive ECD.
- Building agency and giving platforms to caregivers of children with disabilities. This would enable them advocate for the rights of their children through the caregivers awareness resource, empowerment support groups and advisory committees.
