Learning Circle 1 : Analyzing and Building Power for Systems Change

12 November 2025 | Virtual Learning Circle

The Africa Systems Change Community of Practice (CoP) launched its Phase 2 Learning Circle series with a thought-provoking session on Analyzing and Building Power for Systems Change, facilitated by guest speaker Rakesh Rajani of JustSystems.

The session brought together partners from across the network to explore how power shapes systems, influences decision-making, and affects opportunities for change. Through interactive discussions and reflection, participants examined three key dimensions of power: people, processes, and structural conditions, and how these interact to drive or constrain systems change.

A central theme of the session was that trust is the currency of change. Participants reflected on the importance of building relationships, engaging diverse allies, and remaining attentive to emerging opportunities for influence and action.

The Learning Circle provided practical frameworks and insights to help partners better understand power dynamics in their contexts and strengthen their ability to drive sustainable systems change.
